does anyone have a cheaper source of these valve blocks?
Its a new turnover ram, will check bearingtry taking the ram off and see if it works it might be ram seals or the main bearing we have had a kv for years its twenty years old last time it would not turn it was the main bearing we have never had to change the valve block ,if you look in the block on the feed pipes inside one there is a grub screw at 45 degrees some times that will come undone and cause a problem so im told
if you take the ram off and work it you can hear the block klick as it swaps over as i said also check the grub screw if you are careful you can take the block apart one bit at a time see if there are any broken springsIts a new turnover ram, will check bearing
now i am in we had a similar problem our plough is twenty years old and has worn out two sets of mold boards soon to be three ours was giving similar problems what we found was the cage on the bearing had broken up so when the thing turned the rollers bunched up and by the time it got half way they were jammed against each other there was no visible play in the thing but it was a sod to get apart let me know if you are in difficulty with that one and i will try to adviseIts a new turnover ram, will check bearing
That would be the simple answer - unfortunately most Kvernelands are Vari-width so they need to close up to 12" before they turnover. IMHO they are good ploughs (worn 2 out here) but turning over, 'breasts under' instead of 'breasts over' (IYSWIM) is a poor design as the plough shuts up and then opens out every time - leading to premature wear on bushes, pivots, etc. and requiring that ludicrously expensive valve block.Do you actually need the valve block on the plough?
Just pipe it straight to the ram
tried that before, just broke something else,Do you actually need the valve block on the plough?

this is an ed, doesnt vary, except by bolt, but the valve shoves the plough over before turning it and controls the process. That would be the simple answer - unfortunately most Kvernelands are Vari-width so they need to close up to 12" before they turnover. Ours gave bother with the auto fold in thingy (never really liked the idea of folding in every time anyway due to the idea of unnecessary wear) so just bypassed it, it will turnover fine if out 16" or less, any more still needs folded in.That would be the simple answer - unfortunately most Kvernelands are Vari-width so they need to close up to 12" before they turnover. If you're ploughing wider than 16", you just shut it up to 16" to turn overit will turnover fine if out 16" or less
Ours were both EG's - they turned 'under' and when it was wet (ie tractor sinking in a bit) there was very little ground clearance.Tried turning over the other way once, boards under as this was my master plan to save all the folding in but that didn't work either as the boards were catching the ground.
We are always out full width , think ours is es, dunno I drill only plough when I really have to.....in the dark when nobody sees itIf you're ploughing wider than 16", you just shut it up to 16" to turn over
