Hi I’m curious about the cross shaft lengths on kverneland ploughs, take for instance a ed85 200 5 furrow Why is It you can have a cross shaft that takes cat 3 balls but is cat 2 width in the arms or a cat 3 balls and cat 3 width when would you need to have either or fitted? Cheers

Different tractors need different cross shafts. Model E I used to plough with had a cat 2 cross shaft and was perfect behind the TS115 but it wouldn't run right behind the TM155 because the lower links were too close to parallel on it. A longer cross shaft would've put more of an angle on the TMs arms and the plough would've pulled straight.

I've got 2 100cm clearance kv ploughs one has a wide cross shaft cat3 the other narrower but not cat2 doesn't make a bit of difference which one I hook up onto which tractor any of our own or any demo tractors they both pull reasonably straight
