Kverneland Plough Headstock

I run an LM 85 plough with a 200 headstock
When the plough turns over there is extreme pressure on the headstock ,where the turnover ram fits on the top pin, and there is twisting of the top of the headstock where the top link fits. The pressure is so high that the top of the headstock ( above the turnover ram pin) broke away today. This has been repaired to a high standard and the plough is back in work. Is there any way to reduce the pressure in the turnover ram so that it still does its job but does not twist the headstock.
There is an adjustable valve on top of the turnover valve would altering this help?
Any advice please Thankyou in advance

Think they all break there. Another joy of running a kv plough. Don't know if theres a way of reducing pressure, when we replaced ours we pinned it and welded our plough just had pin welded in previously.

I have the same trouble with our plough. Es100. Repaired the pin yesterday and can see it twisting the top of the headstock. Have you got any further with yours Somerset farmer?

Yes
It snapped again and was rewelded with a section of channal over the top.
Also my mechanic put a pressure reducing valve in the line which has cured the twisting of the headstock. The tractor was putting out 3300psi and the pressure was reduced to 2500psi as any less than that would allow the turnover ram to creep ,although the plough would turn over at 1500 psi. We put the pressure reducing valve on the plough side of the turnover valve but in hindsisight it might have been better on the tractor side of the turnover valve.

Does your LM plough narrow in at all before it tips the plough over?
iam sure that this eases a lot of the strain your on about?
It certainly helps no end on my 2014 ES85 5fr i can vouch for that.

No it does not narrow the problem was that once the ram reached the turnover stop the continuing pressure caused the headstock to twist. It is an early 200 headstock with a loose unwelded pin and kverneland had problems with it cracking. The later headstock 2006 onwards had the pin welded in from new.

you can see its much less stress on the plough when it narrows in to roughly 11" on mine anyways
but yeah that top pin is fully welded in right enough

My plough is 2011 and the pin is welded in and it’s snapped off. Had to cut it out and re weld it back in but can see it twisting the headstock. Think it may be the ram seals as they aren’t creating enough pressure to divert the oil to the vari-width ram. Going to investigate more tomorrow and check ram seals

We had the same issue on ours. I asked the question of the dealer about being able to adjust the pressure that it’s set to and got no joy either.
We welded the pin but replaced the headstock later with a newer one.

im sure there must be a way to adjust it on the memory valve etc..
