I know there's loads of lovers/haters out there but not wanting to start different maker discussion it's purely kv mouldboards this time specifically no.8 v no28.
Had a contractor in ploughing with 28 boards at approx 16", so had a look at a s/h plough but its on no8 boards. Will they turn the soil as well.
Also I know there is at least one poor headstock design out there with a big lack of spare parts, is the 160 OK thinking it might be the 240.

ps. I've no need for the extra wide furrow bottom atm. it's just a complete soil inversion on heavy ish land hopefully at 16".

if you are on heavyish land, there wont be much between them, but when you move to more variable soils the 28 will win ,and if you have -sandy,light,fluffy,medium,full bodied, red till to blue clay, then slats all the way

Both good boards & both will work on your land , most head stocks are fine on a 4 furrow on a 5 you want a heavier one.

As you know the Ploughs are for sale shortly. They made a better job than I could but the small one struggled a bit on fresh fym so had a bit of a look see what else is around. There's what (not seen it yet) looks like a decent plough on 100 leg spacing which should help with trash but on what looks like decent no8 boards so just wondering if they would be OK.

100 leg spacings require more lift as the weight is further out. If you’ve got a 4 cylinder tractor I would be weary of the front end lifting up.

From personal experience I would stay away from the 120 headstock, which has the ram out front and a slot for the end of the ram to slide in.

I run a 4 furrow ld85 with number 8 bodies on MF5455, 480 tyres and goes fine.
