Kverneland Plough Wing Shares - 14 vs 16

I need some new ones. I'm currently on 14s I believe, but am curious as to whether they are interchangeable. I have a variwidth plough, so am I right in assuming I am better with the width closest to which I plough at most often, or is there more to it than that?

You'll want as wide as possible for eg if you're ploughing at 14 inch wide you'll be cutting of around 13inch with the share where at 20 inch wide you'll be cutting 13 inch and bulldozing the rest over

What age / model of plough and board number?

I've no idea. I bought it at a farm sale and have not been able to find a plate anywhere on the thing. It is fairly old though, I suspect it has had a new headstock at some point and even this has had some welding to it. Looks like a 200 headstock, on a 4 furrow variwidth auto reset. The only sticker anywhere on it just says Variwidth, although I suspect it is an early to mid 90's LD85.

So probably an early eg on no 8 or 9 boards so 16 inch shares should bolt straight on you might even get 18 to fit but I'm not sure if they make them other than for knock on points I run standard 16 on mine but am rarely wider than 17 /18 other than odd wide run down a endrig to finish up or straighten something out

That's what I would have thought. The plough came from a spud farm, so I would assume they would plough narrow and deep so it might be a reason for them having put 14's on.

Just had a look at the board numbers, They are No 8.
