Kvernland exacta cl fertiliser spreader

Also worth renewing the sealing ring/washer on the spinner shaft in the hopper regularly, once that's worn the fert will work it's way into the bevel box. Apparently "most" people fit new each year, though it doesn't come new with a bag full of spares nor did we guess it was a good idea.
My neighbour bought one on a farm sale with no books or service instructions and just used it for two years. Gearbox had filled up with dust through the seal and it ground itself to bits inside. Good spreader went for scrap

Yes much bigger and stainless on the TL, it’s the little bits like the bigger weigh cells and stainless bolts that make the price difference between the CL and TL.
Thx F them big bolts & square bolt insert is all SS on mine, what a fert mess in behind that cover
Fully cleaned out n rammed full of blue grease

I've had it 7 seasons from new, put 40 to 50 ton through it a year and sow grass seed with it. Not a bad spreader but certainly not the best. Had an amazone previous and a vicon wagtail previous to that and never spent a penny on them.
Hi, just changed from kuhn to kvernland cl. Was wondering what the settings are for sowing seeds, on the kuhn had too change the agitator in the bottom for seeds and the vanes. Was hoping maybe you can give me some tips. Thanks.

@sahara remains of old one after grinding off both sides to remove it from the shaft, new one on and you can just about make out the top and bottom of the old lemon before it wore out!

Just looking at an used exacta cl, don’t know much about them. From what I see it’s 12-24m spread. How do you choose different widths? Would it be changing the spreading vanes?

It’s a pretty simple one I know that. There’s no vari rate or weighing etc. It just say’s cl exacta. Thanks anyway.
TBH didn’t feel it was a question worthy of a new thread, rather just stick it on an existing thread named “kverneland exacta cl fertiliser spreader” :giggle:

Yes, different combinations of vanes and then fine tuning of the width with the ABC lever at side, above each disc.

Also check the discs for play in the bearings as water is prone to getting into the gearboxes with over enthusiastic pressure washing. Make sure it's on a tractor when you check it over as the hopper leans on the discs when it's sat off and you won't be able to tell how freely they're spinning.

The gearboxes aren't expensive to recondition if you can do it yourself. 4 bearings and a couple of seals each.
But there's a lot of labour involved with stripping it down to get the gearboxes out, and putting it back together again.
