Maybe, but i'm sure i could have managed... if only i had had a first wheat slot available.
Good job silverfox. You can stop with the photos now.

Honestly, my wife passed me just as i brought the photo up and exclaimed "Wow..is that in England? "
She is great at the moral support thing.
That’s only one field . To make everyone feel better I’ve got quite a bit like this Gleam. On heavy land that would’ve been better not drilled. I was trying to let water off yesterday on a bit that I’ve never seen flood before .

Should we do a wheat glamour thing.
Costello, sexy as owt doesn't fulfil its promise IMHO
Kerrin. Like a snotty nosed kid, always looks like it's about to come down with something, so far better than promised
Grafton. Always looks well till just before harvest, then you end up looking at this thin crop on skinny straw. Amazingly, it stands, stays in the ear then yields. In my experience.

Skyfall : Reliable without spending too much money. Reluctant to go down.

I have had stonking crops of skyfall that were so tall and bold an arable farmer would be very very frightened of it. Always stood up.

JB Diego never let me down either.

Santiago, now there is a variety that can yield its socks off but in the South West it always wants to try and catch your pants down.

Went for a walk through our extase this afternoon, not looking too shabby.

C2 Grafton on the left, C2 Extase on the right.
Neither of them look too happy to have been planted on the 23rd October ahead of 4 solid months of water-logging.
It had its T0 2 days prior to the photo, the Hatra (Atlantis) might have knocked it a bit.

Very little difference between them. My October drilled Grafton, after grass, looks quite well and I am pleased by how strong the plants look. How drought resistant they are, I think we are about to find out.

Ours was sown on the 24/10 after spring oats, has been under water more times than I care to count, it’s on river land but very easy working loams, I’m amazed how well it looks.

I haven’t T0 anything . It’s been dry for a month and everything looks clean , so don’t see the point

This was mine tonight didn’t dissect it quite like yours. But 4” from ear to root. It’s got a lot of work to do to be booting 3rd week in may. I have cordiale as well that’s the normal booting time for that.
