Yes, grew it this year. Yields on a par with winter barley in the area. Sold at harvest … merchant rang me up to ask the variety as it had an exceptional bushel weight! More ordered for this autumn.

We grew some in a part field next to Bolivia 2 row, the Feeris yielded noticeably better, I would guesstimate between 0.5 to 1t per hectare more. Have got more Feeris ready to drill this year.

Any experience of this variety ? I'm attracted by its BYDV tolerance having had a good experience growing RAGT Grouse BYDV resistant wheat this year

Looks good on paper but as always nothing quite like a bit of direct from farmer feedback and experience ??

Didn't think you had bydv issue ?

How did your grouse yield compared with other varieties grown on your farm?

i haven’t had significant / visible BYDV at levels that have ever had significant yield effect despite no insecticide is for 14yrs now - however that doesn’t mean there is no BYDV reducing yield at a lower level or it couldn’t happen next season !!

We grew a resistant wheat this year without yield penalty so now this technology is available it’s just a no brainer to reduce or remove this risk

who knows what next season could bring. ……….. plus i want to drill earlier, planning on drilling barley here first week of september

got some Keeris seed. ordered now - i rarely buy new seed but this seems worth it

works very well as a 2nd cereal after ww that facilitates access to our AHL1 and 2 SFI break - overall rotation gross margin is ........... nice under a pre cap '23 agreement (y)
Fair play, the SFI tail wagging the commercial farming dog. At least we can still get our farming kicks along the way

Yes grew it , yeild was on par with the two rows we grew nothing exceptionally but they did receive insecticides, , don't forget to price in the extra royalty payment for the privilege of the tolerance gene when farm saving.

A quick Google suggests that the BYDV gene is about all it has going for it, but I suppose it takes time to build a package, and the gene doubtless has huge potential.

Don’t forget Clive is running a three crops in two years rotation and In assume is looking to get the AHL2 if that is the code for bird cover in quick. Needs a AD plant to wholecrop it in three years to allow sowing AHL2 before end of June. Fascinating to watch.

i will update a thread but the spring planted alh1 is full of flowers and achieving its summer pollinator aims. - the alh2 after barley is very well established so should be seeded for winter bird food aim no problem

if rules stay the same maybe rye for AD would be the way to go in 3yrs time - although the % cap also kills it on a ‘24 agreement

…….. or maybe OSR could be worth growing again 3 yrs from now after a rest !
