Maybe not much help, but I did my Trooper, by dropping the gearbox, quite straightforward, apart from the box being seriously heavy
I made up a trolley from a pram chassis and some car jacks, although I have since got a proper transmission trolley jack, pity you're so far away you could have borrowed it
Ran the jeep up on to blocks all round beforehand, then there's plenty of height to crawl about underneath

Usually gearbox as Blackbob says, but if you have a look round the engine, it might not be to bad, I never did one. Very tiring underneath, at least lifting the engine out you are on your feet, but usually a lot more work. Just keep thinking of the money you'll save .........
