Fishing idiots. The vaccine programme is slowing because some dont want it, you can imagine the noise captain hindsight would make if vaccines were compulsory, and boosters aren't available for most yet

The experts have said the vast majority of cases are 12 - 17 year olds , so what point would working / doing f**k all at home make

We have a "friend" who delights in posting any work from home suggestions, we strongly suspect it is due to her employers cottoning on to her doing f all despite claiming to be far more productive wfh. Its the hypocrisy that gets me, she thinks we need to work from home to be safe, but its ok for her husband to sit amongst 60,000 people at White Hart Lane.
Back in my office slave days I saw 1st hand how you needed people on hand to deal with the unforseen, answer queries etc. Sometimes this was a significant part of the working day. These people wfh are having it easy as they generally aren't available to deal with any of this, especially the ones out jogging or dog walking in the middle if the morning or afternoon.

Some still haven't gone back to work from the first lockdown , council officials mainly

Know some one who is a manager in the huge national organisation

Most time is wasted trying to keep track of the idle buggers who claim to be "working" from home.
Any challenge to the rubbish they are putting on their work logs results in them going off sick claiming stress.
But they are happy to take all the glory & benifits working for that organisation brings their way.

I really feel some are unfair on council workers. My daughter has been working all lock down and has had to have frequent face to face meetings even though she is one who should be careful about catching the virus ( will say no more on that) . The pandemic has actually sent a huge amount extra work there way. At the same time she has been home schooling her son, with her husband, who in a similar boat but works for a large American corporation and as you can imagine gets little sympathy from them.
Funnily enough she virtually certainly had covid 8 weeks ago and hardly noticed it, but she is double jabbed.
It is a world away from putting your child in the passenger seat of your tractor 🤔

Speak as you find, obviously your daughter is in a role that has put the effort in, meanwhile our district council has failed to carry out their audit and has yet to submit their 2018/19 accounts and the enforcement department is missing in action. They turned up to deal with pile driving that went on for a fortnight making neighbours houses vibrate and crack three weeks after the machine left the site :banghead: :banghead:

No planning applications have been passed for months here , as @ollie989898 says , they're not fit for purpose .

Not dissing @Exfarmer s daughter who is obviously an exception

Every organisation concerning public service where employees are working from home is a disaster in my opinion. The obvious reasons for this are that communications go astray, clerical staff are unable to collate and disseminate information and the home workers are generally not working efficiently. Net result is a c…k up.
Examples. GP surgeries, DVLA, council services, insurance services.
Our doctors surgery contains few front line workers, practically no patients, an immorally overworked clerical department and a catalogue of mistakes that make Tommy Cooper look like a genius.

It's a theme of this forum. No one could ever possibly work as hard as them.

In fact, everyone is bone idle in comparison.
