EA advice, soil test, then get planning, build lagoon, EA to then check before slurry goes in.

I got the impression that a lot of consultants are making money out of a very simple, farmer friendly system which the EA already provides for free.....Speak to your local farm EA officer, they are very helpful and its them that will tell you how to go about it.

Is the soil sample a triaxle soil permeability test? Have contacted the EA multiply times with no success finding out exactly what soil test is needed before putting planning in. Thanks

I have recently contacted the EA and found them fantastic as I was promised a call back which I promptly had and was talked through the process very well in good detail.

I needed a soil sample taken from a mix of all four corners of the pit to a depth of one metre below the pit ground level tested for permeability by an independent lab. Then if yes are good or suitable clay can be imported from elsewhere planning can be done but the EA need to check construction and sign off 14 days before use. SSSI's may slow planning tho if applicable!!!!

That's great. Thanks. Thankfully not in a SSSI!! Can I ask who you spoke to at the environment agency? What was the rough test cost?

Thanks!
