Ours are made of 3/4inch ply wood, divide a 8'x4' sheet in 3 to give you 3
4' doors. (Our pens are 4' fronts and 5' sides)
Drill holes at each end to tie them to the pallets we use for the sides of our pens.
We bolt a strip of plain top and bottom for strength.
Then cut a 4' slot in the centre for the ewes head to go through. Need a v shape cut out at the top to fit ewes head through door and a pin to lock her in.
I'll try an get a picture,
minimal wasted space and can put cut out ply back in to use as normal pen.

That's great I can make that no problem(joiner)well I hope;)
Don't suppose could measure the width of groove were ewes head stuck in don't want make to tight ewe can't move up and down but not too loose so pops back through cheers

Pallet stood on edge tied between hurdles of pen with slats vertical. Two of the slats cut out off the middle (for ewes head) and a length of 2"x1" pivoted from the top end of the pallet and fixed around the ewes neck at the bottom end, like the neck end of a cattle crush. I have several holes drilled at the bottom to take a bolt depending on size of ewes head (ours have horns). Free and takes minutes to make.:)

I use the shearwell adopter fronts, £58+vat. They are 4 feet so just swap with front hurdle of my pens for the odd stubborn sod.

Edit. It's best to drill a hole and thread a length of twine through to tie down the metal bar along top of 2 doors. Excited ewes can knock it up with their head and get out.
