Thanks all, I had some old tubes of cream but were out of date 3 years ago. Haven’t had a any with it since then. Have ewes still plagued with pink eye so don’t know if that’s a side issue or connected but it’s all making for a fun lambing

The fruits of Texel inbreeding.

I was going to suggest shipping the Texel tup while the cull trade is good.🤐

It’s not so much inbreeding, as the lack of culling it out in pedigree flocks.
Too many just treat it by rolling it out/jabbing, then carry on as normal. If I ever get one it gets an ear notch for definite culling, however good a lamb it is. It’s caused by a recessive gene and there’s absolutely no excuse for not culling it out.

You can get small metal clips that pinch the eyelid and stop it from rolling back up.its far better than fannying about with a needle.as the lamb grows they just fall off, job done[emoji106]

That's why i pinch them, the only problem is when they leave your place they have very high expectations that my records are going to be as good, they're usually disappointed:rolleyes:
If they are leaving me to go to you it'll be alright I'll have them well softened for you. Not the first time one pulled into a layby for quiet weep:cry: after leaving here. Don't know what that says about me?🤪
