Just inject into the eyelid, obviously use the thinnest needle you can. You direct the needle across the surface of the eyelid and just kind of slide it in, It never needs to point at the eye at all. I usually inject enough so that the lid swells and the edge lifts completely from the eye, Catch it quickly before the eye gets damaged, and you won't have to worry about it again. It's by far the best way to cure it IMHO.

Bottom eyelid?? Use a lamb needle an Alamycin to inject in to bottom eyelid, not something I was very keen on doing, but I’ve done hundreds now! You just need to be brave, get the vet to show you ideally to start but you still have to get over the initial thought of ‘it’s the eye lid’ ! It works well

hold the lamb really tight and squeeze/nip the eyelid really hard between the ends of your thumb and forefinger nails,
this will cause the eyelid to swell up and it'll be better the next day, if it doesn't work first time, you didn't squeeze hard enough.
might seen harsh but nowhere as painful as the eyelid rubbing the eye.
a small squirt of Alymicin spray will knock any infection that's set in

Catch them with it early like day old, rub the eyelid downwards and it rolls out and sorts itself out. Some are more persistent problems but keep at them and they usually right themselves.
This is exactly what I do, just rub them down when ringing them and it’s rare it’s a problem again! Used to go through 20+ tubes of orbenin when I first moved back, now purely from rubbing the bottom eyelids down I use less than 3 tubes of orbenin and never injected or sprayed into the eyes

I must have a ram that throws this problem, had it bad last year an this, they turn in quite severely and it’s the eyelash that causes the irritation and if not seen to can cause blistering etc! If only slight rubbing has done it but jabbing does cure it, pinching an bruising it seems a good idea, when you jab them if you don’t get it right first time the eye lid does swell up so I guess could work! You learn something everyday, the wonders of the tff

Most eyelids resolve with just rolling the lid back - the younger the lamb, the better that works - but it's worth knowing how to do the injection. Helps to have a patient, unsqueamish, person to hold the lamb, but if having to work solo, just take time, and be as steady as y'can.

The fruits of Texel inbreeding. I tend to jag any eyelids rather than pinch as if you jag it you can forget about it as it is sorted. Don't like using Oxytetracycline (Alamycin) as it tends to sting a bit, plain penicillin is more friendly and they don't wriggle as much. If your cleanliness is up to scratch you can use liquid paraffin instead, cheaper and no paper work needed.

Its all about reducing antibiotic usage so my gift to you all is something to tell the red tractor/ FQAS clipboard jockey to impress them. (y)
That's why i pinch them, the only problem is when they leave your place they have very high expectations that my records are going to be as good, they're usually disappointed:rolleyes:

I can confidently blame most of our entropion cases to one tup we had, and in far too many of them, rubbing or pinching would generally only last for a few hours, If the eyelid keeps inverting and ends up damaging the eye, then injecting is the only option left as the bump on the eye catches the eyelid and rolls it under- making it even harder to correct.

Never sprayed anything in the eyes and never had any problems.

I don't suppose antibiotics are necessary really, it's a physical problem, not an infection, just makes sense to inject antibiotics rather than some other sterile solution, to protect the wound that the needle has made.
