It’s quite frustrating as he’s a big lamb and full of beans.
I gave him some Betamax LA (1/2 ml), fingers crossed that’ll help a bit.Crows carry some filthy bugs - can you give the lamb some sort of antibiotic cover?
Try and see if he will suck a bottle or his mum and make sure he is actually getting some milk. If not then there is no hope for him
some will and some won't with that much of a tongue missing. Horrible things crows.
My wife doesn't swear but last night I turned the tele over to a channel that just so happened to have Mr Packham sitting in a helicopter, she walked in just at this point and said "you can turn that over, Im not watching that pr**k". I was shocked.Chris packham is a idiot that has no clue what he is on about. I'd get the 12 gauge out that would help good luck
I think he can have some in the morning as it can only helpGood news! Might it be worth repeating the Betamox in a couple of days? I remember an old vet saying its not always the injuries that crows cause that will kill a lamb it's the septicaemia/blood poisoning.
Just a quick update on “Blinky” the lamb.
Today he looks much more comfortable and I used a different length teat to bottle him. I normally use silicone baby teats (as they’re cheaper ) but he couldn’t suck it properly. On a normal lamb teat he went like a train!
Fingers crossed he’ll make it as he’s been a little trooper so far
Your lucky, this triplet lamb was still alive walking around when I got to it, no intestines left inside!I have a lamb here that has a chunk of it's tongue missing due to Ravens. It started off slevering milk out the side of it's mouth but then fed better. Will watch and see.
