I dunno about anyone else but i'm properly fed up with lambing this year, lambing outdoors on my own, and there just seems to be no end of problems, hasn't helped i've had a dose of what felt like the flu the last 4 or 5 days, be glad when it's all over

Down to about 350 left here. First cycle ends wed/thu so the hoggs should start kicking into gear then. Had 200 lamb in the last few days of March then averaged 100 ewes a day for the first two weeks of April. Been a lot better lambing than last year, we're guessing that we’ll have possibly 600 more lambs than last year and lost a hell of a lot less ewes. Suppose there’s still time for it to all go wrong yet!

Some years are utterly carp. I'm sure they're spaced so as to stop us getting above ourselves.
There's several types of fluey colds doing the rounds, too, that grumble on.

Keep on grumbling on folks. Lambing will end when it ends. (y)

Two weeks more here ... although they're competing to finish by Easter Day by the feel of it.

Are you lambing, inside or outside?

All done here and not done too badly. Minimal assistance required (single figures) and not many losses. There's still time for it to all to go wrong though. I don't trust it when things seemingly go well.
Typically wanted female replacements and got pretty much all males though

Have a lamb about 5 days old who is big but seems to be lacking energy and has head down while walking. I’m been giving him some extra milk.

Any suggestions to give him a boost?

Had the first rotten lambs of the year, been wondering when I would get them, just before lunch too:sick::sick:

One was dark grey, placenta came out complete around the backend. 2nd lamb was ok but tongue was white.

What are folks thoughts on timescale for lambs dying and decomposing?
