Handy having that big pit for the drains to run into though. Must be useful for emptying the dipping bath.....

I can't believe this weather...
I put back lambing 3 weeks this year to try and insure there will be better weather and some grass growth after last year's disaster....
What's the betting it's all turned to sh1t by the time lambing starts!?!?
I've done the same

We had our annual lamb viewing day today, let public onto the yard & lambing sheds for couple hours, kids bottle feed cades, bit of an informal tour & chat, answering questions etc.
Really encouraging the amount of kids & grown ups asking very sensible questions & wanting to educated where their food comes from. Handy we had one of the stragglers born couple hours earlier! (y)

Had a bit of a disaster when I got to the shed first thing yesterday, a ewe had lambed a good single and the bag hadn't broken:(
Snaffled the biggest triplet I could find but his new sheepskin jacket turned out to be about 3 sizes too big for him...

Anyhow his new mum seems quite happy with him so this morning I was able to 'tailor' it into a rather snazzy Schoffel type waistcoat for him...........

When I get one with a jacket too big I take in the middle with some baler twine, I think it’s important for the ewe to smell the skins arsehole.
