Lambing pen water

Hi everyone, [emoji847]
I’m trying to sort out a soil pipe watering system through the lambing pens and would like some help/advice on how to attach the float valve system to it, would prefer a internal float valve but can’t see anything suitable

Many thanks [emoji1303]

might need to plumb in some sort of pressure reducer ...but how about simply an end cap and drilling a hole to fix the float unit then to create the chamber cut another end cap or something semi circular to the depth /height you require the water to be and glue in the pipe .
Glueing (solvent weld) done well is ok. i do it on my sprayer pipes ...as long as there is a snug fit and everything is clean.

Wouldn’t the whole of the (level) soil pipe make the chamber?:scratchhead:

Agree on the standard ball cocky in the end. Simple and very cheap.(y)

Alternatively, just fill the soil pipe from a hose pipe twice a day?

Yep could be. as long as no crap or bits and bobs get under or fowl up the float action

Different situation but i know of a chap who diverted spring water into a system and just had it run in one end and out the other.

Yes the soil pipe will make the chamber just need a float that would work in side or a adjoining header tank , just would be easier if float was internal just as @Gator s picture
Took the float out of a water bowl then bought a few more. As already said just drill hole in the end cap, rubber washer on the inside to seal it them just ajust the float level so waters about half inch or so below it overflows

This is a trial system I installed this week after advice on measurements from @Gator . Picked up a waterbowl ball tap from local merchants which looks like one above in @Gator post.
System works very well but was difficult to get level with a spirit level. Needed to adjust brackets a few times when water in.
Hope picture appeared as first time I have tried posting a photo

Have thought of setting up a system like @Gator 's for the lambing pens for a coupla years now but the sheep start lambing next week and still havn't got round to setting it up so yet another year will go by with filling buckets with water for the ewes.

Glad it worked for you @ISCO , It will save you alot of time . Leveling was pretty easy , a mate came with a laser level so I just marked the wall for the brackets(y)

You've still a week to go:rolleyes: just think of the time you'll save not filling all those buckets buckets twice a day.

Good luck for when you start(y). Still a few weeks of here........I hope:rolleyes:
