Hi all, we have always used iodine to dip lambs navels in but someone has told me that ferric chloride is meant to be better? Anyone got any experience on this?
I believe iodine is fine, the important thing is getting plenty on early enough
Remember the naval you are treating is an open wound, so should be treated as soon as you can.
Gone back to iodine 10% here instead of the aerosol blue spray I don't know why really ,probably to save money. Had forgotten how that iodine won't come of your hands.
4 parts 10% Iodine and 1 part surgical spirit on the indoor lambers here, applied asap and again a few hours later if possible.
Outdoor lambers get nothing, or need it.
