You mean you do all the hard work I think I would want a percentage of price of the lamb but I don't know what would be fair price.perlamb

I know someone who did this and it ended vey badly, the man who owned the ewes did a bad job of them before they came into the shed and refused to spend extra to get the condition on them, it meant the lad lambing them had to deal with a lot of twin lamb, then small weak lambs and ewes with no milk, he had huge amounts of watery mouth the result was a flock of Suffolk cross yearling ewes scanned at 180% going back with only 120% lambs and very poor ewes. 6 weeks later when all the ewes had gone back (except for the pile of dead ones) the lambs where getting joint ill. The man who owned the sheep refused to pay because said that the lad hadn't done a good job, although it was his fault. So be carful who you deal with.

Yeah but you can still base it on if he was happy with it say he got 10 pounds a lamb for 100 lambs that's 1000 pounds so that's say 500 for rent hay and straw and 500 for the lambimg still think you want a bonus once you get over a certain percentage say 170o/0 but depending on what they scan it will keep you sharp

Do you know how much the lad was charging him.

Leave your shed empty. If your friend hasn’t been paid this year it doesn’t bode well for a bad year
My friend is just starting to get paid know because they both agreed to go halfs on the lambs. I met the chap yesterday he seem ok and iv given 20acres of grass keep that he said he will pay up front for. Just if we did this lambing for the chap I dont want to be ripped of or charge him to much

You will never charge too much. Everyone on here knows it's hard enough lambing our own never mind someone else's. Personally I wouldn't do it. Let the shed out and let them deal with the stress, chaos and weather that's thrown at them, and besides knows what lamb prices will be like in 12 months time.

I’d charge per hour with labour and the consumables (hay etc) charged extra. Charge your labour a bit more as its lambing etc so your not left short or you may as well go and get a lambing job somewhere else 🤷🏻‍♂️

I wouldn’t go with the profit from the lambs scenario, what if they have a huge nemo attack a few months after or another condition that sheep die of. You may well turn out from the shed with 5% losses but to get them to December I can guarantee you’ll succumb another 5% losses minimum. From scanning - selling you’d be looking around 10-20% of lambs not being there on a big flock usually.
