Whats the deal? Used to be a good few sold round here. Back when they were around 17-20k for a 90-110hp. Theyv almost disappeared from uk. Why would this be? There was far more same and lamborghini sold here than deutz at least 3 or 4 times more but sdf seem to just be interested in importin deutz which doesnt even make sence

I was watching one af the Grassmen vids, I can't remember the dealer who was demo'ing a Deutz, they say that SAME are only now imported up to 140HP. When I worked on a farm in East Essex we had many of them, I can't remember any real bother with them. Shame they are not more popular.

I thought Barrett’s in Omagh were back trying to promote the Same & Lamborghini models again. I think they are moving a few

Yes they were popular, good grip nicely balanced and could usually embarrass bigger tractors with more power. Seemed to loose a bit of ground when the powershuttle came in .
Rust would have hurt their resale but if they were well looked after not too bad. Had a Same Silver 100.6 awesome machine for its size, power.
SDF just seemed to push the Deutz brand more, although the Same Explorer /Lamborghini Strike /Deutz G series are still a popular tractor in the around 100 hp market in livestock area, an obviously Claas sell the Atos in their colours. Tunstall Tractors sell a reasonable number of Hurlimann ones.

Same/ Lamborghini are only made to order. (Many months wait)
Dealers can get Deutz's on their forecourt ready for buyers to look over and buy on the day.

A SAME dealer told us he was changing to a different brand because folk looked down on SAME as a cheap tractor, they would be reluctant to buy them because of what the neighbours would think.

Never bothered us and we had a fair few of them, I still have a Dorado.

Lots of reasons, as the average HP increased the DF brand was more associated with higher horsepower tractors and the SAME and Lamborghini brands were better known for lower HP tractors. The Lamborghini range in particular was hard hit with the collapse of the tractor market in Ireland, with Minogues going bust the volume of Lamborghini's dropped and it wasn't worth promoting the SAME and Lambo brands, advert in the IFJ costs the same if you sell 10 or 1000 tractors. With Minogues gone it just left 3 dealers in Ireland, Clive Pratt, Barretts, and O'Connors selling Lambo, this meant volumes dropped and Barrett took on the DF franchise, Lambo was dropped with Hurliman and the focus was put onto SAME and DF. Total market volumes in Ireland mean that there are only 20 odd SAME sold per year and 60 off DF, add in the other two brands and you dilute what you are selling.
So the reason for Lambo going and SAME reducing is market forces, Dealer changes, and for SAME in particular dealers just didn't order SAME's for stock, so if you can't see it you won't sell it.
In GB SDF's policy in 2006-8 of letting dealers who sold 10 units of less go put paid to SAME/Lambo, as these dealers sold small numbers of tractors.

I don't really see the point of having Same, Duetz and Lambo.
They suits different markets, Lambo is popular in Denmark and CIS countries, SAME is strong in Italy and Spain, DF is strong in countries north of the Alps, Hurliman is VERY strong in Switzerland. This is why offering them all in one country doesn't work.

This is the sold tractors in 2020 and 2019 in Denmark.
Lambo is not even on the list, so popular is not very accurate.
