Weighed ram lambs Friday and had 28 ready so sold them in Mart yesterday. £79. Pleaded I'm starting to get ones ready but it just made father and another friend say that they will grow when there ready and there's nothing wrong with them. Yea 28 ready is good but still would like to have more lambs ready earlier to. Havjnf to house for so long and lamb inside I want to have as high output of lambs and prices as possible

What sort of weights were they @will6910?
How long and how much creep would they have had?

Have had creep for full 6 weeks. Between them and ewe lambs that were on troughs have got 3 ton creep so far nearly. Ram lambs have grown better on other block if fields than at home. They were 22kgs half weight on Mart bridge

I got last meal on Tuesday. Was the 4th ton I have got. 230 lambs started on it roughly 8 weeks ago and have sold 28 fat in that time and rest as stores and the bulk of what's left will be sold as stores to id say

What is store price like?, Not to bad compared to poor fat trade I bet.? Oh well pity you couldnt get more away fat with the meal you have been buying. Not just you that is struggling with lambs this year I dont think.

Wasn't planning on selling so many as stores but they just haven't grown even with the creep feed. Wanted to get last bags anyway to have some for ewe lambs to feed to keep them quiet over tupping and to feed the Rams

I've native breeds which we're going great guns but have just stopped maybe 6 weeks ago at similar weights to yours. Low worm counts, plenty of grass (albeit pp) Very frustrating. Do you leave your ram lambs entire or castrate them?

Yeah leave them all entire. Previous years always sold all before ram lambs caused issues and sold direct to factory to. Mine been slow for whole summer now. I'm experimenting this autumn with more terminal ram breeds and see if it's the breeding that's affecting the lambs or if elsewhere. Also looked into new vets and they want 2 references and credit history before they decide to take me on or not
