Lame Stock Bull

Fighting an abscess infection in my Angus bull (deep in the clee) - he's had an extended 6 day treatment of Synulox and we thought we had him coming upright , but 2 weeks later its beginning to swell & heat again with him baring less and less weight on it despite a block on the good clee and opening up the abscess in the bad one.

Vet is now suggesting removing the clee and another extended a/b treatment.

Anyone had experience of doing this ? I am looking for the best treatment to get him infection free and able to travel.

Depends how bad it is, have you wrapped it with some copper sulphate and lincospectin or something like that? Had an old cow here which was lame as hell, took a month to get her walking better.

Have you got a good local foot trimmer?

Vets love cutting claws off in my experience, not a nice thing to do especially if he's a big heavy bull
