Just been announced that LAMMA will move to the NEC from 2019. With 2018 being the last at Peterborough.

Looks like it will be a week earlier or so, the 8th & 9th January and on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thoughts?

Just got the email too. I like it at Peterborough as it’s only 10mins away, however I suppose it’s better for a lot of people. Just depends what happens to stand prices - it’s already too dear for some exhibitors, lets hope stand prices don’t skyrocket and kill it completely.

no reason for prices to rise IMO - livestock at NEC is no more expensive than LAMMA and its a much smaller show

IIRC, when this idea was mooted a few years back the main issue was the parking. If visitors would pay or the organisers would 'buy' the parking as well.

rarely ever free parking at the NEC - its not the end of the world cost however for a free entry show and hotels etc will be much more plentiful and cheaper options , travel for many will be closer and therefore cheaper

I am sure being outside and having to wrap up real well especially when snow and ice were around like the last year at Newark added a bit of character to Lamma and really made the abundance of hot drinks and biscuits very enjoyable:)(y)

Going be alot nicer to get to at the NEC tho and hopefully no more 21/22hr days(y)
