Heading over this evening to see what's about. Not so keen on a lot of the lambs I've seen advertised on Facebook so far, although Proctors look like they have a fair lamb with figures to match.

Went up for look tonight. A lot of lambs with good carcases. More with barer heads like their smaller relatives. Can't all make £5k could be chance to pick up a good stock tup. I'll say best lamb, castlecairns, or Usk Vale , best pens Charlie Bodens sportmans/mellorvale

I thought it is a pretty disappointing show, as poor as I've seen in a very long time. Have very few marked for tomorrow. Castlecairn will probably top the sale.

Trying to find a ram that will make correct shearlings is difficult. Lots of structural faults. Even the top so called breeders lambs are in short supply.

Online sale of texels from Fearn this week too, if you want to compare and contrast. Have been to the on farm sale a couple of times and always a good afternoon out, so will be strange to see it go.

I've never really seen mouths being an issue here. For the amount of feed going into a lot of them, easy fleshing is something that seems to be missing.
