Land-rover discovery td5

Asking for a uncle, what to replace it with? He dislikes having to put a pickup into 4wd to pull a trailer out the end of the road then try and get out of 4wd again, he likes the fact that the old discovery holds nearly a ton of meal and it's dry and low for throwing it in and pulling it out

Stick a back half chassis on it and run it for another 15 year?
Buy another one for spares ;)
The ones in the pic stand me (in total) at less than ONE 20 year old Defender and have heated seats.

disco 3 be good but dear enough i would have thought. Have one here and heading to 300000 miles biggest issue is suspension, in hindsight i should have fitted springs first go as it is about 1000 plus fitting. not many td5 discovery i see around now.

im not sure what else is there, trooper is missed really, i think the landcruiser if overpriced, not sure what the disco here will be replaced with, crewcabs no room and like your uncle stuff gets wet.

Expensive tho
because they are the only vehicle of that type that isnt built out of soft cheese. they are the only non-pickup you can buy new that has a ladder chassis, and they arent that expensive. 2.8 hilux and 2.8 landcruiser are very similar price, but the hilux has more spec as standard, whereas the landcruiser has better drivetrain (discs and coils all round and permanent 4wd)
