Land Wanted for Storage Buildings

I run a successful storage business, but we're completely out of space and need more buildings or land close to towns and cities to expand! It's a classic 'good problem to have'!

Our planning consultant has suggested reaching out to farmers who might have suitable spaces to erect new steel portal frame buildings on. We'd really like to buy something, but renting is possible with the right offer.

Short of knocking on doors, I wondered if this community might know of some opportunities or have positive suggestions on where to find them?

Hi Clive,

It's got to be based on what the local market will support, the country is so fragmented with such variation between areas property wise that one number just doesn't work.

As a ballpark, close to big towns and cities we can support £3-3.5 but I do have to look at every location and what the market is like on an individual basis!

Hope that helps and doesn't make me sound like a politician?!

I think his business model was sub letting storage so he’s not going to want to pay too much and you wouldn’t know who would be coming and going and traffic movements would be high so not something I would do. I’ve just asked for £7 for storage of furniture used to dress houses that are for sale which is about right, everything in town seems to start at £10
