Not had landline for 3 yrs, dont miss it or the endless having to deal with BT who like you to be paying minimum top £60s a month for phone, line rental and broadband.

Just talking to the lad that works for us who has EE 4G mobile broadband as his house service.
He rang EE last week looking for a better deal ( It`s his speciality ). They offered unlimited data for £25 / a month, less 10% discount as he has EE mobiles. The small print says if usage is over 1000 gb/ month they reserve the right to limit usage.
Been on it 5 days, running at 60mbs
He tried the "3" unlimited contract but found the speed was throttled at peak times

That looks a bargain to me
Before we got FTTP we were on EE , 500gb month for £65

We are more than happy with EE 4G DIY install, far better than what we have had at higher costs:

Speed test just done:

Same here! Dreadful mobile coverage generally in a known bad area. ALL the mobile providers have us greyed out on the coverage maps :(

I suspect I could get a 4G signal with a big antenna on the house, and then feed it to a 4G Router.
In Wales there is a grant which covers all of the equipment and installation cost for improved internet access through 4G. The company installs it and gets it working. I'm hoping mine will be installed with an extension pole above the chimney next week. Will improve speed from current 2.4mbps down, 0.8 up, to around 50 and 25 on 4G unlimited. They will also provide a mesh system so that a strong signal goes throughout the house.
There is obviously a monthly subscription that customer needs to pay for the sim card/data.

Finally lost patience with endless faults on the landline so have cancelled our contract as we all have mobiles - usually but not always in signal.

However we do have the ex landline number registered with some businesses who very occasionally ring it. Now I have no idea who these businesses are as rarely in the house during working hours so the question is, do I inform all the businesses I deal with that the number is Kaput?

Does anyone else not bother with a landline?
How do you deal with broadband in the house ?

Mobile dongle with 40g of data allowance ........ enough for my purposes
We have a teenage son/daughter who both burn the gigs, not that daddy doesn't help out, but we have slow broadband, our mobile contracts are all up in September so we are looking for a full package, presently with ee but too many dead spots around here so I think Vodafone is next on the list
