Yes I will be fitting it’s 04 , to be fair only rear cross m but I ain’t fafing about with that , new galved one in and some minor cosmetic work set of led lights and she be as good as new again .How old is landy hilly?
there’s marsland and Richards Some folk swear by one and some by the other
Are you going to fit it?
I’m in a very similar position. Welded crossmember up but it’s niggling me cause back quarter is knackered really.Yes I will be fitting it’s 04 , to be fair only rear cross m but I ain’t fafing about with that , new galved one in and some minor cosmetic work set of led lights and she be as good as new again .
I’m going to replace anything that’s not 100% I tend to do my best to make her as good as new , do me another 17 years , the price of new vehicles is so much it will make a good spend on this well worth while .I’m in a very similar position. Ah I didn’t know heavy duty were available i defo want one of them !!I got a Richard's heavy duty chassis a couple of years ago. Very happy with it, I think standard Land Rover are 1.6mm, normal galvanised 2mm and heavy duty 3mm. Should see me out!
Money and effort well spent I would say. Td5’s are making the pumas look cheap now too as they are a lot better motorI’m going to replace anything that’s not 100% I tend to do my best to make her as good as new , do me another 17 years , the price of new vehicles is so much it will make a good spend on this well worth while .
Paint ontop of galv ? Or in galved ?We put a marsland under ours last winter, mainly due to britparts having one in stock as there were long lead times dealing directly. No problems with the chassis though.
Also painted it with 2 pack epoxy primer and topcoat then blasted all the rest of the running gear serviced and painted.
It's worth replacing the body mounts with yrm galv ones.
5-8k would go far toward a new 4x4 tho .Then the other hundred things. Soon at 5k for bits.
