Blimey! Look how clean and tidy it was in the "good old days"Its peak was the earlier years of the last century, at its height it employed up to 4000 folk.
It is rare around here to not know someone in engineering who has either worked there, or has a relative who worked there. Most starting as an apprentice, from drawing office to foundry men.
If you had worked at M&P you were almost guaranteed to walk right into another foundry job elsewhere.
