Can chat fluently only in English, comfortably in French, Shona or Swaheli, with effort in Japanese, with difficulty in Russian and German and barely in Afrikaans and Welsh (but for everything after Japanese... it's embarrassing for me and painful for the listener). Can read Latin to schoolboy level too, and I also know that the Korean word for moss is 'icky'.

My wife hardly swore when I met here now she does as much as me, she said she even used the F word when talking to one of her clients the other day.

Mine never swore before she met me...

Nothing funnier than an angry Welshman ranting in welsh...........with swear words in English

Yep, I've a neighbour down the road who is and prides himself upon being almost unbelievably Welsh, but he still uses English for the more heartfelt efforts when it comes to swearing. It never fails to make me smile if I hear it, which usually makes him even more cross.

In view of the number of people who take Spanish holidays , I'm most surprised that only one of the precious posters claimed a bit of familiarity with Spanish . I have to admit though that the Spanish people in the popular resorts make it difficult to even try Spanish , as they almost invariably speak good English.
