Rapeseed oil also in short supply as everyone wants itWife tells me rape oil is far superior. Further Farringtons is the best rape oil, I am not in a position to disagree
This is spot on. My wife had beginning of it in fingers, cut out veg oil products and it went. It’s amazing how quickly the symptoms come back if she falls off the wagon - crisps, biscuits etc.My wife's got bad arthritis, been told not to use Sunflower oil as it's inflammatory , bad for the joints!

Is it really an "alternative" if it was originally used first???Sunflower oil: UK bottler has a few weeks' supply left
Makers of oven chips, crisps, ready meals and cereal bars are racing to find alternatives.www.bbc.co.uk
Been talking to a lass who's very high up in the supply chain to all the big supermarkets and she says it's going to be a big problem.Saw on the news today that there’s a shortage of sunflower oil and the rest of the veg oils are in short supply too .
Sooner the better !Been talking to a lass who's very high up in the supply chain to all the big supermarkets and she says it's going to be a big problem.
She's struggling to get top management to realise there's going to be a problem - "Oh, we'll switch to rape oil," they've been telling her. As she's married to a farmer she knows all about why there's less rape about but they don't seem to understand.
She also was telling me how she's trying to get them to source more home grown produce but they're still putting price over food security.
The example she quoted that she'd been dealing with this week was onions. One firm uses Polish grown as it saves the £1M over UK onions.
They are still not prepared to switch even a small percentage over to UK grown to be sure of supply.
She reckons these big firms are just burying their heads in the sand and that sooner or later the sh!t will hit the fan.
The supermaket buyers are changed round very regularly so they do not foem relationships with the producers. It also means they will be long gone before any sh*t hits the fanBeen talking to a lass who's very high up in the supply chain to all the big supermarkets and she says it's going to be a big problem.

Still use lard, always make my shortcrust pastry half lard, half butter. My gran fried everything with lard. And made pastry half butter and half lard.
Never overweight and lived to 89.
There is something in it, however I don't use it but I do fry in butter and try to use butter mostly
