Out of interest how to you catch your first bird? (call bird)
Dead bunny or a few eggs in the trap to get a start.

Would ladder traps work for pigeons?
Pigeons will fall for a trap. One with a pop hole at ground level or a pigeon bob on ground level or a combination of the two.Very effective against feral pigeons. Doubt that woodpigeons would fall for it.
I know some are catching already. I'll hopefully start in the next week or two.
Certainly add me to a register if it gets going.

Not in the form of a register - as stated in the thread there are a few established schemes.Did this idea ever take off?
I was in a facebook group, called The Corvid Exchange, for giving call birds away to others to bait traps however the group just disappeared. I wonder if the name was too similar to Covid? Or it was the fact that it was giving away live birds? Either way, it's gone.following on from the songbird charity thread, is there any demand for call birds for Larsen traps? Would ease of availability encourage more of us to run a trap or two? As a TFF collective we have the power to do a lot of good
I'll start the ball rolling by offering magpies and crows as available in the border area between Wiltshire/Dorset/Hampshire - pm me and I'll try and help
Should there be any interest in this, from memory I believe it is illegal to sell the call birds, so only available as a gift. To avoid giving out my location to antis I would only consider requests from established members
Perhaps people in other areas would consider offering the same?

Be time to start again soon - bear in mind the rules have been updated this year (possibly thanks to Mr Packhams input?)
