I priced one a couple of years ago
The starter kit was 45k
In a few years when technology moves on it might 20k
Then in a few years again
I might consider it hahaha

It won't key it up to allow paint to adhere so well like blasting would. But it's a lot cleaner. Less space needed but a massive cost if 45k

Also, if used for components that do not get painted (engine parts, gears etc.) you'd still need to go over each part again to removed pitting, flakes etc.

I'm sure it is indispensable for something... but I'm not sure what that something is. I'd still like one, though!

Funnily enough (being a sci-fi movie fan), no! They're the dullest films I have ever seen. Seriously, NOTHING HAPPENS in the first three

A lightsaber would be handy for trimming down pallets, though.

Eats paint as well. There is a video showing one remove pen lines off white paper without damaging the paper.

White paper doesn't absorb the laser energy so doesn't get hot. Not sure how the ink being burnt doesn't damage the paper though.
