Anybody using a laser level with a digger mounted receiver for leveling sites etc, any recommendations or things to look out for with them? Topcon seem to be the most popular locally.
Thanks
Thanks
ive got a spectra receiver mounted on the dipper arm of my 13 tonner
it tells you when when the dipper is plumb and sends the signal to a receiver in the cab
i use it mainly for draining and tend to press down to take a reading to take up the slack in the pins
used it on trimming stone and i reckon the receiver would be better mounted on the bucket
wont it lose line of sight if in a trench if on the bucket
if you are trenching yeswont it lose line of sight if in a trench if on the bucket
screw fix sold me mine its great works really wellAnybody using a laser level with a digger mounted receiver for leveling sites etc, any recommendations or things to look out for with them? Topcon seem to be the most popular locally.

i run mine off a leica 100 single grade laser and the receiver tells you when the dipper is plumb......a few inches out of plumb can make quite a difference to depthYes I use a Datum machine control receiver, works best on grading floors for concreting or grading stone for yards etc. I have a bit of 100x10mm flat I bolt to the back of the bucket on a bracket I welded on, It’s ok for digging out or digging trenches. You just have to remember it’s only reading right when the dippers straight !, there a good bit of kit that will get you to within about +/- 20mm.
I run mine off a Leica dual grade laser.

Thanks, it's more the actual laser I'm unsure of as there seem to be so many options, single or dual grade seems to make a fair difference to the price.
I guess single grade will be fine for levelling sites so is dual grade going to be of any benefit to me as I won't be doing fancy concrete pours or anything?
