Laser level

Does anyone know of a better deal than £500+vat free delivery on a Topcon rl-h4c.?

Need a new laser and not wasting money on a pee poor stabila again.(n)

£495 + VAT seems to be the market rate for a rugby laser from a UK reseller. Slightly less if you buy from US but then you've got import duty, couriers fees etc to contend with. Saving probably not worth it for 500 quid and you might not get the 5-year warranty internationally, dunno if that's important to you.

I've got a 10 year old David White dual slope laser that has been awesome. Bought stateside

I got mine from pheonix surveying. I don't know what model it is though. They're a good firm to deal with.

I have a spectra and a stabila, I used to use spectra and t'other gang had stabila but I've swapped over now I prefer stabila

Does your stabila have those stupid rails that it raises on?

The base has cracked on mine, the battery pack corroded (had to buy another and solder it on) the button to turn it on came unstuck and needed taking apart to fix and now it needs calibrating as its miles out.(n)

Have a good old fashioned dumpy level but it's a pain in the arse when you need two to use it.

No, mine doesn't do gradients it just does level and the lazed bit is on a pendulum so it doesn't rely on a computer to level it so I suppose really I can never get as it needs calabrating.

The spectra does grades and I have that calibrated every year

I have a Trimble GL722 dual grade laser and Trimble CR600 receiver. The receiver has a magnetic mount to attach to a digger dipper arm if needed. I welded a small support bracket on the dipper to locate the mag and avoid it slipping. My drainage trencher has a spectra LR21 receiver which is a larger unit permanently attached to an electric mast.
