Late calf registration

I stupidly managed to tag, BVD test and register for subsidy a calf, without actually putting it on CTS. Just discovered I have no passport for it. Born July.
Where would I get a DNA test kit, and is it just to test the dam and calf and send the results to BCMS?
Do you just pull hair for the DNA test?
Thanks.

I have had to have the vet take the sample hair from each, cow and calf as bcms wouldn't let me take the sample my self. Think it was in the region of £100. Test to prove dam calf link..

I had to have a vet take a hair sample from cow and calf too, cant remember the price but it was quite expensive. Bcms and vet charges.

Had the vet out today for something else - have to phone BCMS to get a lost of accepted test kit providers, then order one to be sent to the vet. Goodbye calf subsidy on this one!
Thanks for replies.

I thought they went out of the window years ago
Scotland claims calf subsidy under ‘Amber box’ - to do with WTO compliance for restrictions on production subsidy I think. . They argued a good case and took the bulk of the UK allocation.

Phoned BCMS todayy, very helpful. Have to register the calf online, the system will flag up the problem and then they get in touch with list of DNA test kit suppliers.
