Late calf registration

Are you sure of the ET date?
I register all calves hours after birth. My memory isn't the best and also far easier to tag the calf. Shearwell app on my phone, boom, job done. I too have been there years ago and that's why now most of my calves are registered within 24 hours

Your postman ( or postwoman) will be fully aware of your calving pattern. And each passport will cost a fortune in postage costs. ;) But hopefully you get a daily paper delivered at the same time.

Don’t want to risk calling BCMS and end up with the passport being revoked or something daft. Can calves be 19 days overdue? Had them up to a fortnight late I think
We have had a calf 20 something days overdue. Was on a bought in cow to a ai bull. We just had to dna it for society to register. But was to the ai bull. Was a bit big calf tho. [emoji85]

To cut a long story short I was late registering one calf. A very genuine oversight, we’re usually very organised with a passport applications. Anyway, it’s new birthdate is a whole 10 days after it’s real birthdate. Which isn’t a life threatening problem in its self, however it’s a pedigree calf that was got by ET, So there is obviously proof of when it should of been due. But unfortunately when the calf was actually born was genuinely 9 days after it’s due date....so adding that to my additional 10 days that I needed to give him to register with BCMS, to anyone looking the calf was born like 19 days late (which I assume is basically impossible???) ?‍♂️.

What on earth do I do now. Unfortunately the calf is absolutely exceptional so desperate to get it registered with the society. Frustrating knowing the people out there leaving calves 2 months before they register and now I’m in a pickle because of a genuine mistake after accurately registering several hundred calves without putting a foot wrong. It’s a native breed but won’t say anymore or il be accused of jaegerbomb round 2 ?. Any body got any advice?...it would be hugely appreciated
What came of this? Did you or did you not get the passports?
