Late harvest

Combined sample?

No, grabbed a whole plant and took a hand sample with the Marconi. Edge of a field with excess N where plants were very forward and got away from the flea beetle. Was after some rain today though. Have one field that is looking pretty brown when you look from a tractor down into the canopy. Think we'll try on Monday (or, if we're disorganised, Tuesday). Combine driver on holiday at the moment.

This was the spot but photo taken on the 28th. There is another field which is fitter as a whole than this one.

We have 2 months difference between our first drilled WW field and the rest. Put some multi-N on the first field and surprisingly the 2nd field drilled 2 months later today.

Been all through a couple of fields of WB today, pulling wild oats.

Amazingly, it's all far greener now than it was three weeks ago when going through same fields second time.

Secondary tillering, grasses and blw all only to be expected after the recent rain.

But even the main tillers, straw and the grain, seem to be so much greener, too.
Same here.
Barley looks greener than it did before the rain. Got a lot of volunteer wheat and a late flush of wild oats so will need dessicating. Early wheat looks about the same as always, Grafton and Kerrin so early varieties. OSR though....... Pod stick on over the last week in the hopes that it will keep the ripe stuff in until the just flowering stuff catches it up. :(

Late harvest? Wheat will be the end of September if not October here. Same with the spring oats. The same as every year before this one.
Its a wonder you ever get any wheat sown much after then up there, generally buggered here by mid Oct 9/10 years & iam south of Scottish boarders but similar North Easterly Cold Winds off that Sea

If we start combining WW in August I’ll be surprised !!
I reckon September will be very busy with WW and SB
Doubt any OSR will get sown this year as it will just be too late after wheat
