We combine mascani for crimping so straw still quite green (organic so dont mention glypho!) - so we know the straw will need drying out. Contractors combine has got a lot bigger and last year it all got horribly wet.

This year I intend that we shall spread the swaths out straight after the combine rather than hoping for dry weather and then spreading wet crap out to dry. Combined early the straw is white when baled and not fully waxy so makes excellent straw when dried.
