Looking at you screenshots of TRU the receiver is using GLONASS for positioning as they are on the left if that were not being used they would be on the right I am regarding second screenshot

Sorry to hear about the problems with 781 compound release. I was going to book in to get the upgrade from 780 (we got upgraded previously in December), to gain some of the new features in 781 I played with at Sima, but think I'll hold out as it's running an AGI4 based receiver.

There are quite a number of noticeable changes with this update. I do like the new shortcuts. It is making it more simple to operate. From the little I know from my dealer the problem does not affect every machine and the patch solves the issue. If you want the update get it just check it is 100% working before the fitter leaves.

Mine is fine now.

OK, I have to read the TRU manual and monitor the receiver behaviour in more detail. But if this was the case, then the VarioTerminal indicator is incorrect. It shows only 10 satellites at the box titled "GPS + GLONASS" (as on the earlier screenshot at this thread).

EDIT: some more test and data. I logged NMEA data with the Lefebure Capture application and it only shows GPS satellites on the satellite map. I cannot remember if it is just a feature of this SW, perhaps it does not show GLONASS satellites on the "Satellite Map"?

I then modified the RTK base parameters and reduced the number of GPS satellites for the RTK correction signal. Now VarioTerminal shows odd number while still indicating full RTK fix. The tractor was stationary but the "GPS + Glonass" number on the screen goes gradually down to zero while the accuracy icon shows all green bars.

One more update on this topic: I got a confirmation from the AGCO factory about the number of tracked satellites issue. It is a bug on the displayed figure just like rodney83 concluded earlier in this thread. Not a big deal and does not affect real work at all.

I learned something about AB-lines too. I tried old AB-lines and the tractor was heading to a completely incorrect direction. I was informed that old AB-lines should be converted with Fendias to work with the new software. I did the conversion manually, reading coordinates from old VarioDoc files and entered new AB-lines manually from the tractor screen. Old curved waylines are fine as such.

Perhaps the patch that someone mentioned earlier takes care of the AB-line conversion?

Better knock on wood but looks like the new SW works fine once the steering angle sensor and steering valve are properly calibrated after the SW update as well as old AB-lines are converted to be compatible with the new SW.

I'm afraid this tool assumes the most recent VarioGuide AB-line format. The tool has no option to read (old) Fendt data and write (old or new) Fendt data. If you read Fendt data, it only allows you to write other formats except Fendt.

I tried to read old Fendt data, convert it to Topcon, then read Topcon data and convert it to Fendt data. The converter already gives an error message (without any details) when I read old Fendt data from the USB stick. If I then look at the "new" Fendt file, looks like the AB-line data is incomplete, the altitude info is lost etc. Should try it for real but I don't think I dare to play with the files.

Perhaps someone has made the tool to work (for conversion from old AB-lines to new) and can give step-by-step instructions.

The tool as such is a good start but it really should handle curved lines too. The next step would be a wayline editor.
