Should I put latitude seed dressing in wheat after spring wheat? It’s going to be direct drilled end of sept. Previous cropping is s wheat osr spring barley

Very much depends on soil health, general fertility, variety and drilling date. I've gotten away with it a few times but it was the farmer's idea not to use latitude, not mine.

I can't guarantee you won't see a yield penalty whatever you do. You need to look at the trial data and decide for yourself.

I cut ww in adjacent fields yesterday. Drilled same day identical treatments and variety. 1st cereal did 7t/ha. 3rd cereal did 5! Can’t believe you don’t see take all @robbie
I remember as a boy, dad saying about take all but we just dont see it, if we did then I'd soon reach for the latitude.

I dont know why we dont, is muck pre 2nd cereal and early N hiding it???
Is it a case of the less dressing you use after a while the less you need????

Maybe I should drill a bag of latitude through the middle of a block of 2nd wheat this autumn and see if there is a difference despite not seeing classic takeall symptoms.

I am sure muck helps. The crop can steadily grow all winter and surely has a better root system than it might otherwise have if it was relying entirely on the bag.

It had muck last autumn and it could have a light dressing this autumn if it’s dry enough. It’s 6 years no-till

I remember frontier trials near here showed over ten years the lattitude didn't cover it's costs. It's just that "what if" factor as there's as reason it's called take-all. Am led to believe it has shown good yield increases in barley too.

A lot. and you still need a spd for all the other seedborne diseases. It makes your farm saved seed well over £300 ton.
But I had some 2nd wheat in a field that usually suffers, and have not seen a white head all summer in it.
Combine will tell.
