Leaking plastic tank

I have a plastic 20000 vertical water tank that has started leaking around the 2 inch outlet fitting. Access into it and emptying it of water are not straight forward. Is there an instant sealant that will stop a trickle of water from around the joint that I can use.

There are lots of adhesives for plastics these days, unfortunately there are as many different plastics! You need to match the adhesive to the plastic and use the right one. Fortunately, the manufacturers will often advise you. Many items will have a code molded into the item specifying what plastic it is if you look.

Shouldn’t think there’s many options if it has to be repaired wet and not from the inside. Best I can think of is a good smear of gutter sealant because it sticks like hell and can be used in the wet. CT1 might do it but I don’t think it’s as sticky.

I've repaired ibc's with a soldering iron. Some work better than others depending on tank age. The repairs on stationary ibc's lasted until sunlight made them brittle but the repairs eventually cracked again on water carts.
It's best to practice on scrap plastic first to get an idea how it will go..

On a slightly smaller scale, I’ve used tiger seal successfully to stop a leaky header tank with a fracture around the outlet in the attic. There’s also a product called sticks like s**t, that I’ve used t seal up cracked fibre cement roof sheets in the rain, it’s very sticky even in the wet.

Have repaired a diesel tank that melt from an exhaust blow down with a heat gun and flat soldering iron. The trick is to get the correct type of plastic to match your tank. We found that the plastic from a big water tank worked for us.

Ah we had nothing to lose really it was the secondary tank on a massey 6470 so could work without it. The replacement was €500 but had a 6/7 week wait time so we said we’d chance fixing it. We used an old plastic water tank so cost us nothing to repair it. Sorry the pictures aren’t great cus the tractor is in it’s winter clothes... it doesn’t look perfect but it does the job and doesn’t. Plus it’s fairly well hidden by the exhaust.
