Shift them Friday, they’ll have had plenty of time out then. Pointless letting them get soaked on Saturday. Just keep eye on the stack

If their squares get them moved they will suck moisture out of the ground the ground was damp before this weather and bales don’t want leaving on it whatever shape or size

I was out at 5.30 this morning, as I wanted to gather and treat lambs before it got to hot for the dogs/sheep/me. There was a low mist on the grass fields until about 6, and the sheep were all damp when I started.
The hay we've baled has all been done after 3pm, as it needed some heat to dry out each day.
Same here, sorting lambs at 5.30 (in the cool) and I put on wellies, but really, my boots would have been fine...

if they are round bales stack them on their ends, so then there are funnels in the stack in the shed to let the heat rise, but I was told always leave round hay bales out for two weeks before putting them in the shed.

It's funny how the weather is different over such a small land mass, isn't it?
We had 2-3 very humid days here start of last week. 0 drying, despite being very warm. Sweating buckets just thinking about moving, but the grass was still soaking at 5pm and the bare ground stayed damp in the shadows.
The sun burst through last Wednesday and it's been clear skies and very hot every day since. No low cloud/mist at night and no - or very little - dew. Proper baking here!
I don't like heat and am struggling though - my milk bottle legs are on show, and that's a real rarity

At least 10 days regardless of weather. Three stages to heating aka curing and last stage is v v hot, about 45C IIRC. Hammer a metal rod into the centre of a few. Pull it out every day. When its not feeling quite warm in your palm, ok to stack. As said, can-ways best. On side compresses lower half and bale gets fusty also stack starts to tilt.

He’s not he’s correct, never gone for this sweating or curing malarkey. Our hay always in shed within 24hrs, about 250,000 bales in last 30yrs. Make it right
