Yeah all lights work on his pickup (top and bottom). On mine the indicators work top and bottom but the sidelights/brakes is only the bottom

And do the sidelights/brakes work when turning them on on their own?
Then stop working when you turn the indicators on?

But how can the top lights know what pick up you have connected?
They work with one and not the other?

Just double check your wiring, probably a loose connection in the junction box.

Are the indicators flashing on and off?

Indicators flash at the required speed and on/off.
I’ve got 2 other trailers and they’re perfect behind the pickup but only difference is they are halogens.

Just check the wiring to the top LED's

There is no way in the world the top LED's know what pick up is connected, especially on side and brake lights.
Works on your mates and doesn't on yours, not making sense, or did I miss a bit?
Sometimes I have to read text a few times .............

My point (rather poorly) was can the new pickup act funny with leds ie picking them up. Know of a few others where they do strange things

Only strange things they do, is not flash the LED indicators, so just fit a resistor pack.
Anything else is down to wiring, I'm afraid.
