LED work light opinion for van?

Looking at ideas for roof mounted LED for the van, got 2 on the back and one above the side door. Looking at something like this as its low profile.

MUST be well sealed, good stainless fixings, probably best suited with one bolt fixing? and ideally hollow bolt to save drilling a second hole in roof for the wiring.

Fitting one of these to the rear of the pick up. Low profile with good light output.

i could possibly mount one of these on the back i guess? but i not sure the roof is going to be flat on the new van IMO?

One of the Van's has that inside the back doors, works well for working late.
We fitted a small round one to the tow bar and connected that to the reverse lights

@ACEngineering you can change the lense colour too. I had mine linked to an adjustable flasher relay at one point for a trial. They are seriously bright and combine with orange or red lenses would make great beacon!

dont suppose you could try and take a pic of them in the dark some time? so i can see what light they spread out?

I not got the van yet so not 100% if theyre would be any where suitable to mount them IMO being flat mounted.

its going on a Man TGE which is same as the new crafter but only 2017 onwards.

I just made a flat piece of steel that spanned the roof and bolted to existing bolt holes in roof gutter . They are now in my shed as my shogun goes back tomorrow. Speak to @Graham Smith of retrofit parts. He is very good and his lights (Nordic) are the best you can buy

my current rear LEDs are poor IMO very old units. I replaced the side one a few years ago with this one from Vap which is actually pretty good but would rather something lower profile.

Let us know how you get on with the man tried getting one from the company but the lease was ridiculous money. Going to end up in a transit l3 h3 at under half the cost. Gutted really as looks a great van

That’s your problem! Don’t buy lights from a generic spurious parts supplier. But lights from a light manufacture!

like i said the rear ones are very old (totally different to the better one pictured i now have on the side), but i actually quite like that one pictured and 3 x of them would do the job if i cant find anything else i like.

Yeah i was struggling to get a deal done to IMO on either a Man or a crafter, dealers were way off the mark on prices and not happy with the brokers retaining the v5 doc for up to 11 months in some one elses fleet name! thats just a dishonest loop hole thats should be closed in my opinion!

in the end i spoke to Man Truck and Bus UK at swindon and did a deal direct with them via my local service center, who very kindly let me test drive there own service van before i had even spoken to Man at swindon.
Once i explained about the test drive at the service centre they said offered to put the sale through them so it was a win win as the service center right from the start said your welcome to test drive our van but we will not be anywhere near competitive.

It was ordered about 2 weeks before lock down and expected delivery now! been delayed till mid july which is fine under the circumstances.

My main worry is its very low to the ground but i have ordered a 40mm lift kit for it so hopefully it will be okay. (y)

Its got

FWD, 140 bhp
metalic paint
heavy duty stablisers and shocks front and rear
aircon
8" colour touch screen (no sat nav but you can connect your phone to the screen and use google maps)
bluetooth, elecy windows etc etc
cruse control
270deg rear doors
storage above cabin accessed from load bay
15mm resin ply floor
All season tyres

Maybe a few more options i cant honestly remember!

£24,500 plus vat and plus road tax and first reg fee. (be a similar size to transit L3 H3 i think?)

Quite amazed they only wanted me to sign a sales agreement, not given any deposit at all! which for a factory order i find very odd:scratchhead:

Wow now that’s a stonking deal! Company I work for have been trying to get me a van for over a year now. Looks like they have finally pulled their finger out. Problem with the price we get is head office will only lease all vehicles from one company who are useless They have a fair few hundred cars off them but this is the first van. have narrowed it down to exactly what I want now FYI same spec you have For a 3 year deal with the following extras of 2 bays of racking, led recovery lights and a tow bar came in at over 14k a year! Transit with the above plus a 240v power pack in the back came in at 6k.

Can understand your concern on the height have heard that a lot have split their fuel tanks but there’s drivers and there’s screwdrivers and your lift kit should suss it ?? I’m excited for you! ?
