Haven't come across a chain my battery angle grinder can't remove within minute. The chain gives a phycological barrier but not much more.

It is a poor show when you feel you can't just say no and that be the end of it. I get the impression the man is a bit of a bully and I don't like that kind of behaviour.

I totally agree, but that then is criminal damage to gain access. A whole new bag of worms...

That's just giving in to a form of blackmail isn't it?

I'll let neighbour do whatever he wants because he is/will be obnoxious if he doesn't get his way.
Not really. But if you are going to have to spend a good many years living next door to this kind of individual, nothing will be gained by acting like an arsehole too. Better to have an uneasy peace than a war, in my opinion.

Lots of the advice here will end up with you in front of a judge. If your answer is an absolute no then write a letter, copying in your solicitor saying no. Take lots of pictures and if they trespass take more pictures and then sue them. I can recommend a lawyer.

If you value your principles less than a big heap of cash then write a letter with the name and phone number of your agent, preferably one that has some rottweiler DNA. That way you don't have to deal with the neighbours personally and end up with a lump of cash for no effort.

Why would anyone spend money on a solicitor or agent in order to say no. Just send a recorded delivery letter saying no. That's less than a fiver spent. make sure the gates are secure, and keep an eye on the field, if they start to dismantle the barn, you've got a clue that something might happen

I would be suspicious that the pikies who have quoted to do the job would leave all the sheets behind after they'd flogged all the steel for £200 per tonne.
A look at the consent for the development may reveal conditions on removing the building and show they've gone arris against face doing the job anyways.
Also. You could be in breach of planing by storing on your land.
Put a charge on the property.

@Clive had similar last year. Not sure if we ever got an indication of how things finished up, but this is the thread.

I think I asked a couple of times but got no answer.
Filed it next to the dead horse thread :nailbiting:

I think a simple recorded delivery letter saying 'No it won't be convenient due to cropping requirements'
Then if they try to access your land anyway call the police and tell them you have trespassers causing damage. With a bit of luck they will then be charged with criminal damage.
As you are not allowing access there's no point in engaging an agent as you will be left to pay the bill.
In the UK you will be extremely lucky if plod gives you the time ofday. Probably end up with Plod charging you with harrassing neighbour

I would send letter asking for £10k upfront and a demand for for damages as assessed by a qualified surveyor for whom you will expect your neighbour to pay for. I suspect it will persaude the guy to find another way of removing the shed
