Lely Centreliner problem

My Centerliner will open hydraulically, but won't close. I have changed the ram, the old one was very stiff, but the problem remains. Tried a different spool valve and a different tractor but no different. Is there something going on with the fittings at the tractor end of the pipe - there as a cylindrical piece on each pipe between the male probe and the hose. I'm not sure what these are for - could one or both be the problem.

The cylindrical piece you mention is I think a restrictor to slow the flow down as the ram is very small. I think you need to narrow it down a little so remove one of the restrictors and try one at a time and also change the probes one at a time

As already said, it be those little restictors,when i had superbowl ended up removing them & turnimg spool vavle on tractor down to limit oil flow, worked fine. If its working to fast the linkage rods thend to fly off!

I managed to take one of the restrictors to bits, or blew it back through. I can't remember but it solved my problem which was the same as yours.
