Im not sure of price, its being trialed on a new flooring system for cows.

Dont own a robot scraper but if I was to purchase id buy a JOZ. Friend has one with a 2.2 metre blade on it, it takes a similar width to most tractor scrapers. Im not sure if the machine in the video is available in the UK yet.

What’s the flooring system?

Yes I thought the flooring looked interesting. It appears to be some sort of matting that allows the urine to pass through leaving a more solid muck that can be collected by the robot. The video seems to be showing heifers but they are trialing it out with cows at the Dairy Campus in Holland. In this situation it is being targeted as a welfare flooring with the added benefit of lower ammonia loss as urine collected separately. They claim lower cost I guess through no cubicles and it can be added to a flat concrete floor.

Anyone have Any experience with the Lely Collector? We ordered one in the end of last year and it should arrive in the coming weeks. Hopefully we will be satisfied with it, the alternative was scrapers and that would have quite alot more expensive in the end.

One been working 9 months near here. They are delighted with it, once the inevitable teething problems were sorted.
Needs 1/2 a man less now to run the place

Do You have any idea of any problems they have had with the collector? We are gonna have any other equipment from Lely, so we will try to manage with any major maintenace contract with them.

They were within 500€ from each other, but the major problem was the layout on our barn, whould have needed quite alot of extra lot of digging and concrete to make scrapers possible. I can make a drawing later to show you. If I remember correctly the collector was 24 000€

Do you know what kind of bedding they use? We are fancying using straw, but they recommend that bedding should not be Any longer then 30mm for the collector and I have not found Any information what you could expect with a Baleshredder e.g. Teagle 8100 or Mchale c460.

We zero graze and they are not sure it will like the grass, I don't think sand is compatible with it as it builds up in the bottom of the collector

Think some minor modifications to the shed to allow it a clear run, nothing major

Do you know what kind of bedding they use

They use sawdust / lime to bed with.
Looking at the promo video gives the impression it will work best with "wet" slurry

Would have thought chopped straw would work till the day it trys to suck up a lump ........
