Hi,

Wondering if someone can shed some light on an issue we have had. We bought a Lely lotus 770 tedder 2011 new and have stored the machine inside from new in the upright position. We have regularly maintained the tedder greasing at all desired intervals etc. This year we folded the tedder out from winter storage and greased as usual and checked machine over, no sign of anything wrong! We do roughly 100 acres a year with the tedder so its not over used! This year after having been using the machine for a day we then folded out the machine in the field to start work only to find it was out of timing on the outside two rotors. Upon investigation we found the roll pins had come out of three of the four yolks and the outside rotors had jumped a few teeth. I have since found out the have modified the roll pins to bolts. They then tell me the machine should be folded out to stop the shafts from rusting which it supposedly does whilst in the upright position in an insulated shed?!? Oh and to add insult to injury they tell me the machine must have been folded up whilst still working. Has anyone else had similar issues?
